Jean and I spent a few days in Durham, North Carolina attending a Diving Fatalities Workshop sponsored by the Divers Alert Network. After the last day’s meetings, we decided to visit the Sarah P. Duke Gardens located on the grounds of Duke University. Beautiful day, gorgeous gardens. The photos don’t do this place justice…here is the link to their website

A day at Prairie Nursery
We spent the day today driving up to Westfield about 90 minutes north of Madison to visit Prairie Nursery. We are going to transform a part of our back yard into a native plant prairie. The nursery is well known for their native Wisconsin prairie plants. They feature show gardens with well marked plants and expert advice on what conditions each plant requires. Since each prairie plant blooms at a different time of year, only the late summer/early fall plants were in bloom when were there. Even so, lots of photo opportunities.
Lake Wazee Weekend
Well, we spent last weekend at Lake Wazee near Black River Falls, and conducted a few PADI Specialty courses in addition to an Advanced Open Water class. One of the Advanced class dives was Underwater Digital Photography…not the greatest conditions nor a high end camera setup, but I think everyone had fun taking photos anyway.

An afternoon with the Circus Parade wagons…
I had the opportunity to shoot the Great Circus Parade wagons which were at Veteran’s Park near Milwaukee’s lakefront. These magnificent antique wagons are put on display for a few days before the Circus Parade, which is coming up July 12,2009. I really like the bright colors, carvings, performer’s costumes, and details…..
